Al Adamson's movies are often hit or miss, and this bore definitely misses
In the introduction to the Troma DVD, producer Sam Sherman refers to this as "a great movie with lots of interesting performances" and "its not a cult classic but it really should be". Even by the standards of exploitation cinema, hes completely overselling this tedious bore. I'm not really sure what to make of Al Adamson. I absolutely loved "Satan's Sadists" and it remains a trash classic, one of the most entertaining biker films out there. "Black Samurai" was fun and I've even come around to enjoying "Dracula Vs. Frankenstein" somewhat after disliking it on the first viewing. So a tough girls film along the lines of "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" coming from Adamson sounds like it would be fun, right? Unfortunately, despite a few moments of inspired insanity, this is pretty lousy.
The film disappointed me for several reasons. As usual with a lot of Adamson's schlock, the "storyline" is completely incoherent and obviously patched together from several different films. While this can be fun in a somewhat headache inducing way, its annoying here. This isn't a film, just a string of exploitable sequences. Also, for a film with the title "Angel's Wild Women", the women really aren't given anything to do. I knew I was in trouble when I expected a tough girls action flick and the first billed was Ross Hagen (in a performance which completely rips off The Man With No Name from Sergio Leone's "Dollars" trilogy). Most of all however, this film is just rather dull. Oh well, at least its not as bad as "Cinderella 2000". (2/10)
